challenge
Zikke allows people to experience and register their motivations and talents. The mobile app has been widely used in primary schools in recent years to make the future of children visible. Zikke, however, had the ambition to enable not only primary school pupils, but also students and workers to organize their own happiness. However, the existing app did not match the intended growth in terms of scalability and user-friendliness. New functionalities were needed to be able to use the app with various target groups. Due to the expected more intensive use and broader deployment of the Zikke app, the need for innovation became great.
SST is challenged to redevelop the mobile app so that the motivations and talents of various target
groups can be registered. For the redevelopment, it was important that the core elements of the app
were retained.
Another wish was to add new functionalities with a view to future use. The starting point for the app
was a user-friendly environment in which the experiences, results and ambitions of individuals come
together. Being able to easily build or share a portfolio was one of the requirements.

The mobile app we have redeveloped gives users the opportunity to make registrations for their own
portfolio in a user-friendly way. In the system, contributors and users can easily send information
emails.
Convenient management options have also been built in and the app has been made functionally suitable
for use among a broad target group. Thanks to the redevelopment, the app is technically ready for the
future.
In order to renew the app, we first recorded with Zikke what the technical and functional wishes and requirements were. After the preparation phase, we determined the technical architecture and developed the first version of the app. The app went live with that version so that we could collect feedback in practice. The test feedback and desired refinements of the app ensure that we can specifically optimize the next versions.

The modified design and new contact management ensure that the app can be used for a diversity of target groups. From young to old, from student to worker and from firefighter to office worker.
Architecture
The updated technical architecture of the app makes it possible to process the stored portfolio data properly and quickly. This is therefore ready to be used by many users throughout the Netherlands.
Security
Portfolio data is personal data and requires a high degree of data security. Attention was also paid to this during the redevelopment of the app, so that users can safely store their data.
Scalable
When redeveloping the app, future developments were taken into account, such as the use of push notifications. The app can therefore easily be expanded scalably.
Native Android and iOS
The web application has both a native Android and iOS shell. This makes it possible to use native functionalities.
Frontend & Backend
The frontend was developed in Javascript using Vue. The backend is in PHP via the Symfony framework.

Door een nieuwe app te ontwikkelen, wordt de route en ontwikkeling van ieder individu beter visueel gemaakt. Diverse doelgroepen kunnen daardoor eenvoudig hun ervaringen, resultaten en ambities registreren. Zij krijgen beter inzicht in hun persoonlijke ontwikkeling. Zo kan elke leerling, studente of werkende zijn of haar eigen geluk organiseren.
